Director Sam originally trained at the University of Auckland before spending 12 years abroad. He has worked on projects as wide-ranging as 'Iceberg' basements in London, a 17th Century manor house in Surrey, film sets for Eastenders and The Crown, a Maltese palace, bamboo huts in a Bangladeshi slum, 12-storey buildings, wire rope bridges and game lodges in Southern Africa.

On returning to New Zealand in 2020, he set up SGSE Ltd with a vision to provide high-quality, low-volume engineering advice. A thoroughly practical person, Sam provides a personable service with clear communication and delivers real-world, practical solutions.
